My Farrells journey started in 2021, I had come out of covid gaining 70lbs which came with some serious health issues. After being told I had to make major changes by my doctor, I called Farrells and signed up without taking a class. Farrells not only changed my physical health, it changed the directions I took my career. I'm thrilled to be the General Manager of Farrells- St Paul. I can't wait to meet you!

Happy to be here, friends! I started my Farrell’s journey in 2021. First time kickboxing, first time lifting weights! I was hooked. I’d only ever been a runner and found that I LOVED kicking and punching things, while building muscle. Two 10-week challenges and many fun classes later, I’ve stepped into an Assistant Manager Position. Working out, feeling good, in community? That’s what it’s all about. See you at the studio!

When I found Farrell’s a few months ago, it was everything I was looking for and then some. What’s up St. Paul!!! After being a collegiate athlete and playing hockey my entire life, I struggled to find a structured fitness routine after college. I gave Farrell’s a try and immediately could tell it was a community where I would find my inner athlete again, while actually looking forward to working out and staying consistent. I became an instructor because I am passionate about helping others (I’m also a registered nurse in the ER). I believe I can inspire 10 week challengers to be the best versions of themselves!

Along my path in life, I have rarely come across a community of people as kind, welcoming, and encouraging as the one I have found at Farrell's. As much as I thoroughly enjoy kickboxing, lifting heavy things, and the challenge of self-improvement, the people are by far the greatest asset Farrell's has to offer, and I am so grateful to be able to call myself a part of the Farrell's family. My favorite thing about being an instructor is being able to help motivate others to reach their goals and create a fun and safe space where members can smile and laugh while working out. It proves that working out doesn't have to be dreadful and boring, but instead grindy, motivating, and FUN! If you would have told me I'd be a kickboxing instructor two years ago, I would have thought you were crazy! But here we are...and it's one of the best decisions I have made. I hope to see you on the mats real soon!

Gym culture had always been overwhelming and unwelcoming so I often times found every excuse not to go. Farrells felt different the moment I walked in. My cup overflows with new and healthy friends and I get to add to that with each new challenge that brings in fresh folks. This community keeps me going and wanting to be a part of what keeps people coming back is what inspired me to become an instructor.

I graduated from St. Catherine’s University with a degree in Exercise Science and a degree in Nutrition. I have been a certified personal trainer since 1995 and worked in the fitness field for three decades. I was excited to join the Farrell’s team in 2019 because of their complete, well rounded program of nutritional support, smart exercise, and the dedicated community. My goal continues to be to help people on their journey to optimal health and have fun while doing it.

Farrell’s has become my 2nd family. I never expected to gain a community when I joined, but I did. I also got back my positive attitude and my health. Farrell’s has been such an amazing influence in my life, It’s hard to believe. I love Farrell’s because it has given me a sense of community. Each gym has a culture of acceptance; whether you’re a pro athlete or never worked out in your life. I like the personalization and accountability; it is on-going, even after 10-weeks. What inspires me most is the culture of acceptance - you’re not another person scanning in - your goals and progression matter. Form is my specialty, offset by some comic relief. I don’t always dance while on the mic, but when I do . . . Well, come to my class and find out!

My fitness story started like many others where I struggled to find a workout I actually ENJOYED! In my search to find ways to stay active in my adult working life, I experimented with lots of different things. The only way I was ever able to stick to a program was through group fitness! I did some martial arts growing up, so when I found Farrell’s in 2017, something clicked…not only did I get to kick and punch things, but I got the added bonuses of strength training and a fun community!

Simply put, Farrell's has changed my life! The community and support this gym provides is like no other. Honestly, Farrell's was a life saver for me! I had been a member of another community based fitness gym in the area that I loved, and when it closed, I found it difficult to get into a good self-care habits again. Farrell's is the perfect complement to my fitness goals and has kept me steady on my path. I love working out with everyone in the Farrell's community, whether as a class member or an instructor. I am motivated by seeing everyone work hard together and push one another to hit one more rep or kick a little higher.

I love the combination of kickboxing and weight lifting, and I try to do my best to sweat profusely every workout! I somehow got into the habit of going to the 5 am classes, which still baffles many people, but I find that it’s a great way to wake up and start your day. I wanted to become an instructor for those people out there who are like me: people who want to get healthy by making lifestyle changes that are sustainable and enjoyable. Getting healthy shouldn’t be a miserable experience full of deprivation and tedium. It should be fun, balanced, and long-lasting! I strive to be relatable and approachable; chances are if you’re struggling with something along your fitness journey, I probably have too.

I decided to try out Farrell's on a whim in 2022, after driving by the gym regularly on my way home from work. I've been coming to class almost every day since!
